Solo Hiking 18 Miles in Pennsylvania's Wilderness
Locations: Lackawanna and Tobyhanna State Parks
Date: August and September 2024
Distance: 14 Miles Total
Time: Approximately 8 Hours Total
In late August 2024, I hiked 7 miles along Lackawanna Lake in Northeast Pennsylvania, USA. I started at Parking Lot 2 near the populous Boat Launch section. I crossed PA State Route 403 to the Orchard Lake Trail and continued to Bull Hill Trail near White's Creek and onto Trostle Pond. Afterward, I continued to Northwoods Trail and finished the hike south at the Carpenter Town campgrounds. It is a beautiful local hike with many scenes to experience and wildlife to see.
In the following month, I also recorded another short hike following 7 miles of back-trails from Tobyhanna State Park to Gouldsboro State Park via the Lake and Frank Gantz Trails. A very quiet route, I finished the hike sort of unsatisfied. However, still had this footage and was going to somehow use it. I combined both of these hikes to give them more value in watching. Not my normal style, and won't do combinations often, but still worth it in the end. Enjoy.
